Christantus Uche Ignites Dominant Crystal Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity

This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.

A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

Youngster Adam Wharton went close minutes later, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after racing into the box, but the referee waved away the appeals.

The formerArsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, prodding home from a yard out after Uche's shot had hit the post.

The home side were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Contest

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
